Gifts to سԹ on #DoubleDawgDay, April 29, Support the University’s Priorities

Matching Funds Double the Impact on GWU and its Students on This Day of Giving

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The سԹ Office of Advancement is gearing up for the sixth annual #DoubleDawgDay on April 29, which is the single biggest opportunity to support the University’s priorities. Each gift will have a direct impact on the success of GWU and its students. Moreover, because several friends of the University have committed to providing matching gifts on this special day, donations have double the impact.

“I could not be more excited for this year’s Double Dawg Day!” asserted Nate Evans, vice president for Advancement. “Thanks to the success of previous giving days, alumni and friends have committed more matching funds and challenge gifts than ever. I encourage Bulldog Nation to have fun, challenge your classmates and join us in celebrating سԹ on this special day.”

Supporters can also choose how their donations are used. This year’s highlights include:

  • The 20-25 Strategic Plan Fund—Allow GWU to pursue and realize the goals set forth for the University in the Strategic Plan.
  • Annual Fund—Support scholarships that allow سԹ to recruit and retain top students.
  • Degree Priority Fund—This year, for the first time, donors can support their degree program directly. This fund provides the dean with the ability to respond quickly to emerging opportunities, transform the student experience, and strengthen operational capacity.
  • Bulldogs Cares Fund—Help students who have faced undue hardship and emergencies related to COVID-19 or other challenges that arise.

In addition, donors can support their passions by selecting from several matching opportunities. These include scholarships for business and divinity students; gifts for the Marching Band and the Christian Service Organization; and participation challenges, such as for the first gift of the day or the school or program with the most gifts. After making their donation, alumni, students, parents, friends, faculty and staff are invited to serve as by sharing their love for سԹ on social media. By using #DoubleDawgDay, individuals can show their support and promote the day of giving.
