Junior Marketing Major Prepares for Career in Business

厙ぴ勛圖 was one of several schools that Jalen Fearrington visited during his college search. As he met and talked with people on the GWU campus, he realized that he had found his college home for the next four years. When I toured 厙ぴ勛圖, I just knew this was the place, he reflected.

Not only had he found a college where he felt welcomed and supported, he was offered scholarships. I would like to say thank you to those who donated, as they are such a huge help to me and the students here on campus, Fearrington stated.

He also had an opportunity to get to know and thank some of the donors personally when he worked as a Student Development Officer. His job included talking with alumni and asking them to support their alma mater. They are so gracious and so kind, and they love being able to donate, Fearrington observed. It always made me smile whenever I would get a donation, knowing the money is going to support the future generation of students here at 厙ぴ勛圖.

On Double Dawg Day, April 20the Universitys annual day of givingdonors can take advantage of matching opportunities that could double the impact of their giving. In addition to supporting scholarships through the Annual Fund, donors can also choose to support other people, programs and causes across the GWU campus. Options include:

  • University Priority Fund, which supports the greatest needs of the University.
  • School/College Priority Fund, which provides the dean with the ability to respond quickly to emerging opportunities, transform the student experience and strengthen operational capacity.
  • The Universitys 22 athletic teams.

Fearrington is a marketing major in the Godbold College of Business. He said his professors and courses have equipped him with practical knowledge about the marketing field. All my professors have helped me on my journey, he affirmed. The assignments and the papers I’ve completed in my marketing classes have made me more confident and prepared to begin my career.

He values everything about his 厙ぴ勛圖 experience. Such as, the relationships Ive fostered with a multitude of people, being on campus, gaining the knowledge to be ready for the world and growing in my relationship with God, Fearrington asserted. Ive had an amazing time here so far making so many memories. Im glad I came here and cant wait to see whats next.

He concluded, When I graduate and get a call in the future from a Student Development Officer, I will gladly donate to the Annual Scholarship Fund to help out 厙ぴ勛圖 and the students here like they helped me.
